Life can change in unexpected ways, and sometimes you need to update your Medicare Advantage or drug coverage outside of the usual enrollment periods. These timeframes are called Special Enrollment Periods (SEP).
- Some common reasons you may qualify for a Medicare SEP include:
- Moving outside your plan's service area
- Losing employer group coverage
- Other special situations (like Medicaid or Extra Help)
- Your plan's contract with Medicare changes or ends
For more information about SEPs, please go to Medicare.gov.
