Dr. James Sanderson of CarePoint Health Earns Clover Preferred Care Provider Certification, Joining Elite Group of New Jersey’s Top Doctors
Clover Assistant helps physicians provide better recommendations for their patients by presenting vital medical information at the point of care
JERSEY CITY, NJ (September 3, 2019) – Today, Clover Health announced that Dr. James Sanderson of CarePoint Health is joining its network of Clover Preferred Care Providers. Backed by proprietary data analytics and machine learning technologies, Clover Assistant is an online platform that provides physicians with relevant, real-time data for each patient at the point of care. As a member of this prestigious group, Dr. Sanderson is recognized for his dedication to using Clover Assistant, which provides technology and data for a personalized healthcare experience for Clover members.
“We are pleased to announce that Dr. Sanderson is joining the growing network of Clover Preferred Care Providers certified in Clover Assistant, our tool that helps doctors deliver the best care possible to their patients,” said Ethan Lipkind, Chief Development Officer at Clover. “Partnering with top-tier physicians such as Dr. Sanderson is extremely valuable as we continue developing the platform to best serve patients and doctors alike.”
Clover Assistant was built to create a holistic and actionable view of patient data from across the entire healthcare ecosystem. As such, Clover Assistant dynamically surfaces up-to-date, patient-specific information including medications filled in the last year, open care gaps, and evaluation and treatment suggestions, based on multiple data sources. With this knowledge, doctors can make more informed care decisions without having to rely on a patient’s memory for an accurate health history.
“I’m excited to be working with Clover and implementing this technology at my practice,” said Dr. Sanderson. “Clover Assistant offers a personalized roadmap for each patient’s health history, so I can provide faster, more comprehensive diagnoses and care plans.”
With nearly two decades of experience practicing medicine, Dr. Sanderson provides primary care to patients adolescent age and above. He earned his medical degree as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now Rowan University), completing his residency at Bon Secours Canterbury Partners in Care/UNDMJ.
Dr. Sanderson chose primary care because of its broad scope, as he enjoys bringing the many aspects of medical management and education into an integrated whole. He believes his role as a primary care physician is to communicate medical information the patient can use to stay healthy outside of the doctor’s office, since 99% of health care takes place between visits.
By offering a streamlined view of a patient’s healthcare journey, Clover Assistant allows physicians to make the most of their patient visits. Using its machine learning technology, the tool also helps the provider to prioritize immediate patient needs, so each member receives the right care at the right time.
Clover Assistant, launched as a pilot program in mid-2018, is the latest step in Clover’s commitment to empowering doctors to improve health outcomes for the company’s Medicare Advantage plan members.
